READING & SPELLING

 ​​1. ID uppercase and lowercase letters by name receptively  and expressively

 2. ID letters in last name

4. Match words to pictures and pictures to words

  • apple, ball, book, box, cat, car, dog, duck, egg, fish, frog, fox, hat, horse, house, lion, pig, pizza, sun, star, tree


 5. Read Sight Words  

  • it, is, yes, no, go, stop, you, at, we, my, look, to, said, have, will, do, red, yellow, blue

          Use repetitive sentence strips to teach new sight words.
          For example:
          It is (person/object)
          I go to (place)​

          Use a sight word ring of mastered words to review learned sight words at regular intervals.​

 6. Identify beginning sounds of words receptively

  • Sorting objects and pictures by beginning sounds, identifying missing beginning sounds for CVC words given choices, etc.


 ​7. Begin to read CVC words (consonant, short vowel, consonant) and match to pictures

8. Begin to read simple sentences with sight words and match the sentences to pictures

MATH

1.  Rote count

  • to 20


 2.  Counting objects with 1:1 correspondence
